Hybrid utility: Remove Lesser Curse / Counterspell
Keep one optional support key across Arcane, Fire and Frost: Alt self cleanse, friendly mouseover or target cleanse, otherwise Counterspell on your selected enemy. This is utility, not a healing or DPS pair.
This macro is based on research and still needs testing in game. Check the requirements and known limits before trying it.

Requirements
- Remove Lesser Curse learned; source first-learning level 18.
- Counterspell learned; source first-learning level 24. No specialization or talent requirement is recorded for either action.
- Keep a dedicated Counterspell interrupt key available when an immediate interrupt matters.
Known limitations
- Research-supported design for beta 1.60.1.70009; no recorded in-client macro tests. English spell names require localization on other clients.
- The first matching branch is final. Range, line of sight, cooldown, resources, an unlearned spell or no removable effect cannot redirect a failed helpful action to the enemy.
- Enemy mouseover is ignored. A dead friendly mouseover is skipped, so a living hostile current target can still receive the harmful action.
- No automatic self fallback or target-of-target branch. With no matching branch, no spell is attempted. Alt keybindings may intercept the self modifier.
- One press attempts one spell. This key does not detect debuffs, enemy casts, readiness, health or which action is best.
- Remove Lesser Curse removes a Curse or Bane; it does not restore health. Counterspell interrupts or locks a school; it is not a damage filler.
- A friendly mouseover or current target selects cleansing even when that unit has no removable effect. Move the cursor away and select an enemy to use the hostile branch.
- There is no /stopcasting. This shared key does not deliberately cancel your active cast or channel; use the separate Counterspell macro when an immediate interrupt is needed.
- Counterspell can be spent on an enemy that is not casting. Range, cooldown and interrupt immunity remain separate restrictions.
Notes
- Spell IDs identify the sourced first-rank reference; unranked names request the learned rank selected by the client. A spellbook tab is not a specialization lock.
- Talent and level records are provisional beta extraction, not proof of spell acquisition.
- Ability metadata adapted from Chris Baldwin / Talents Forever under CC BY 4.0: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/. Macro design and summaries are original Allegedly Skilled work.
- Optional consistent utility binding for all three specs. Keep ordinary damage, healing consumables, buffs and emergency defensives on deliberate keys.
- Researched pairing rationale and client cases: research/hybrids/mage.md. Existing dedicated Counterspell and Remove Lesser Curse macros remain unchanged.
