One key.
More options.
Pair spells that feel natural together, keep familiar keys when you change spec, and leave your emergency buttons easy to reach.
Researched · Not yet tested in game. Based on the 1.60.1.70009 beta snapshot, reviewed 27 September 2026. These are keybind suggestions; we have not measured which rotation performs best.
Keep your keybinds familiar
Keep pairs consistent
If a heal and attack work well together for your role, keep them paired when you change spec. When switching classes, put attacks, support, interrupts, control and survival spells in familiar places.
The first match is final
A spell can fail because it is out of range, on cooldown, not learned, or has nothing to remove. The macro will not try another spell. A dead friendly mouseover can be skipped in favour of your living enemy target.
Keep emergency keys easy to reach
Give emergency heals, interrupts, escapes and major defensives their own keys. Older macros may use Shift to target yourself or choose another spell. Check what each key does, including when you hold more than one modifier.
One spell, friend or foe
Start with native dual spells
Some spells already work on both allies and enemies. A paired macro chooses between different spells. Neither option casts both at once or chooses your rotation, and you still need any required talents.
- Paladin · Holy Shock
Healing or damage from the same talented spell; this variant is friendly first.
- Paladin · Light’s Vigil
Separate setup and follow-up presses. Its enemy-mouseover priority differs from friendly-first Shock; choose the recipient consciously. Self-target eligibility is unverified.
- Priest · Penance
Talented native heal/damage channel. Read its mouseover order, channel guard and unresolved self-target limit.
- Priest · Dispel Magic
Friendly cleanse or enemy purge. A friend with no removable effect still wins the helpful branch.
- Warlock · Devour Magic
Friendly cleanse or enemy purge by a trained Felhunter; pet readiness remains a separate requirement.
A small starting set
Choose for your class and role
Try the options that suit how you play. You still need to learn the spells, select any required talents, and have the right pet, form, weapon or reagents. You can also keep a spell on its own button.

Paladin
Keep familiar support pairs as options. Native Holy Shock is the clearest dual action when actually talented.
- Holy Light / Judgement
An optional pair for deliberate mixed support.
- Flash of Light / Holy Strike
An optional second pair when melee access is intentional.
- Holy Shock, friendly first
Native heal/damage; requires the actual talent.
- Holy
- Prefer native Shock when talented; a melee strike needs melee range.
- Protection
- Keep direct Judgement and Holy Strike; friendly mouseover must not delay tank controls.
- Retribution
- Keep the same support pairs; choose your seal deliberately.
Keep direct access: Taunt, rescue heals and defensives. Judgement depends on your active seal; Seal of Fury makes it taunt.

Priest
Renew / Pain gives a memorable periodic-action pair. Native dispelling and talented Penance deserve their own positions.
- Renew / Shadow Word: Pain
Optional shared pair; choose healing or periodic damage deliberately.
- Flash Heal / Smite
A consistent direct-support option, with separate emergency healing.
- Dispel Magic, friendly first
One native spell cleanses a friend or purges an enemy.
- Discipline
- Give talented Penance a separate position and check its channel policy.
- Holy
- Use pairs for intentional mixed play; keep rescue heals directly accessible.
- Shadow
- Off-healing needs a deliberate form decision; the pairs do not manage Shadowform.
Keep direct access: Emergency healing, shields, assigned dispels and talented Silence. An absorb is not a heal.

Druid
Caster support pairs can stay consistent. Cat and Bear need their own combat, threat and form controls.
- Rejuvenation / Moonfire
A useful instant-periodic pair for an intentional caster layout.
- Healing Touch / Wrath
Optional direct caster support; form and cast-time limits still apply.
- Ravage / Pounce
A deliberate Cat opener choice, separate from caster support.
- Balance
- Keep caster pairs stable and choose damage recipients deliberately.
- Feral Combat
- Treat Cat and Bear separately; caster healing keys do not replace their attacks or taunt.
- Restoration
- Keep direct rescue heals and a deliberate way to leave or preserve a channel.
Keep direct access: Form changes, Bear taunt, control and emergency healing. These pairs do not automatically unshift.

Shaman
Healing Wave / Lightning Bolt is a useful shared caster pair. Keep interrupts and destructive totem decisions independent.
- Healing Wave / Lightning Bolt
The same pair across trees when mixed caster support suits the role.
- Chain Heal / Chain Lightning
Situational group healing or cleave; the macro does not choose safe bounces.
- Cure Poison / Disease
Explicit dispel-type choice, without automatic debuff detection.
- Elemental
- Use mixed caster support deliberately; keep Earth Shock independent.
- Enhancement
- Healing is a deliberate cast-time choice alongside your melee controls.
- Restoration
- Keep direct rescue healing and talented Riptide; chain damage stays opt-in.
Keep direct access: Earth Shock, emergency healing and urgent Grounding/control. Moving totems and recalling them have different consequences.

Warlock
Felhunter Devour Magic is native dual utility. Pet care, personal recovery and allied healing are different things.
- Devour Magic, friendly first
Cleanse or purge with a trained Felhunter; a successful devour heals the pet.
- Life Tap / Rank 1
Manual health-to-mana choice; no rank guarantees a safe health reserve.
- Choose which stone to create
Preparation compression; creating a Healthstone does not use it.
- Affliction
- Keep damage-over-time placement and channel switching deliberate.
- Demonology
- Pet training, readiness and sacrifice choices remain separate from the spec name.
- Destruction
- Keep shard spending and burst recipients explicit; avoid a resource fallback on filler.
Keep direct access: Spell Lock, control, pet behaviour, defensive sacrifice and channel exit. A pet-family condition cannot prove readiness.

Mage
Rank, ward and preparation choices are the strongest compact options. Keep cleansing and urgent interruption independently reachable.
- Frostbolt / Rank 1
Normal damage rank or a deliberately cheaper, shorter slow.
- Conjure Water / Food
A simple preparation pair, used out of combat.
- Remove Lesser Curse / Counterspell
Situational convenience only; retain a dedicated interrupt. Neither half heals or deals filler damage.
- Arcane
- Choose when to protect a channel and when to stop it; keep cooldowns deliberate.
- Fire
- Keep proc responses on the intended enemy; a mouseover can change the recipient.
- Frost
- Keep Blink, Nova and talented protection direct; use rank choice intentionally.
Keep direct access: Counterspell, Blink, Frost Nova, assigned cleanse/control and emergency protection. A friendly frame can suppress the hybrid interrupt.

Hunter
Useful dual keys include deliberate shot, pet-care and preparation choices. Mend Pet heals your own pet, not party members.
- Aimed Shot / Multi-Shot
Choose single-target damage or cleave explicitly; check shared cooldown and nearby control.
- Call, mend or revive your pet
Useful when a pet is intended; the Call branch conflicts with deliberate no-pet play.
- Track Beasts / Humanoids
Low-pressure utility choice; other tracking stays separately available.
- Beast Mastery
- Keep pet attack, withdrawal and recovery deliberate.
- Marksmanship
- Separate Trueshot Aura from Rapid Fire; respect intentional no-pet setups.
- Survival
- Keep traps, control and escape reachable independently of damage.
Keep direct access: Feign Death, urgent control and pet withdrawal. A failed control cast can still stop attacks or recall the pet.

Rogue
Explicit opener and finisher choices are useful. Frequent builders should not hide emergency actions or long cooldowns.
- Eviscerate / Rupture
Direct damage or a bleed on the selected enemy; no automatic combo-point decision.
- Ambush / Garrote
A deliberate stealth opener choice; keep Cheap Shot and proc-enabled Ambush separate.
- Cancel Blade Flurry
A dedicated companion when extra-target damage would be unsafe.
- Assassination
- Keep Cold Blood separate from repeated Mutilate; add Venom without displacing a familiar Slice role.
- Combat
- Keep burst cooldowns deliberate and Flurry cancellation immediately available.
- Subtlety
- Keep actual Cutthroat Ambush and Premeditation recipient choices explicit.
Keep direct access: Kick, control, Sprint, Evasion and Vanish. Do not hide a critical reaction behind a routine spender.

Warrior
Explicit stance, shout and attack choices can share space. Taunt, interrupts and major mitigation need their own controls.
- Choose your stance
Manual mode choice; no automatic stance or equipment recovery.
- Heroic Strike / Cleave
Optional direct/cleave choice; check attack timing and surrounding crowd control.
- Battle / Demoralizing Shout
A deliberate group-buff or enemy-debuff choice.
- Arms
- Keep stance, weapon and control requirements visible when choosing attacks.
- Fury
- Keep resource and burst choices deliberate; do not infer an automatic attack sequence.
- Protection
- Separate Shield Block from Shield Wall; preserve direct taunt and interrupt access.
Keep direct access: Taunt, shield/stance-dependent interrupts and emergency mitigation. Victory Rush heals you, not an ally; no Intervene is assumed.

Try it in game
Use your own build, spells and controls. Try friendly and hostile targets, a dead or missing mouseover, a spell you cannot cast, each modifier, and a cast or channel already in progress.
A generic channel guard stops you switching during any of your channels, but does not protect your pet’s channel. Stopcasting, attack and pet commands can still take effect when the spell that follows fails.
Make it fit how you play
Solo: start small, with separate keys for escape and pet or form control.
Group: keep assigned interrupts, dispels, emergency heals and tank controls on their own keys.
PvP: make targeting and quick reactions easy, even if that means using more keys.
