Targeting and features
Alt: yourself — Flash Heal → Otherwise: living friendly mouseover — Flash Heal → Otherwise: living friendly current target — Flash Heal → Otherwise: living hostile current target — Smite → No matching branch: no cast
Requirements
- Flash Heal learned; source first-learning level 20; Smite learned; source first-learning level 1. Each action needs its own learned spell.
Known limitations
- Researched design, not tested in the Forever client. Beta names, requirements and behavior may change.
- English spell names only. Unqualified casts use the learned rank selected by the client; reference spell IDs do not force rank 1.
- The first matching branch wins. An out-of-range, obstructed, unlearned or otherwise unusable helpful action does not fall through to the hostile action. Cooldown or resource failure never chooses another spell.
- Keep Alt plus this key free of conflicting bindings. Alt explicitly selects yourself even with an enemy selected.
- A living friendly mouseover takes priority over your selected enemy. Move the cursor off friendly units and frames when you intend to use the hostile action.
- Enemy mouseover cannot redirect the hostile action. No target-of-target branch, automatic self fallback, retargeting or lowest-health selection is included.
- Dead mouseover units are skipped, so a living selected enemy can still receive the hostile action. With no matching living recipient and no Alt, no spell is selected.
- One press attempts one spell. No rotation, proc detection, cooldown fallback, /stopcasting or explicit /startattack is included. Normal cast and channel interactions still apply.
- Shadowform prevents healing spells in this source. Leave it deliberately before using the healing action; this key contains no form cancellation. A matching blocked heal never falls through to damage.
- These paired keys have no channel guard. Avoid pressing them during Penance or Mind Flay if you intend to complete that channel; the existing dedicated channel macros remain separate options.
- Flash Heal is available later than Smite. Before learning the heal, a matching friendly branch still attempts Flash Heal and cannot become a Smite cast.
- Both actions normally have cast times, and their ranges differ. This does not turn Smite damage into ally healing.
Notes
- Keep these paired abilities in the same positions across this class's three specs. Add optional talent keys separately instead of remapping a shared pair.
- Pairings are Allegedly Skilled recommendations for predictable bindings, not measured damage, healing or mana optima. Sharing a key grants no mechanical bonus and does not cast both spells.
- All new hybrid keys use Alt self, living friendly mouseover, living friendly selected target, then living hostile selected target. Choose the question-mark icon for a paired key and verify its tooltip in the client.
- Source first-learning levels and actual talent allocations are distinct requirements; neither a preferred spec label nor extra Legacy points prove spell acquisition.
- Ability metadata adapted from Chris Baldwin / Talents Forever, https://talentsforever.com, CC BY 4.0. Macro designs and pairing recommendations are original Allegedly Skilled work.
- Primary pair: keep the same direct-heal key after Flash Heal becomes available. Earlier levelling uses the existing Lesser Heal and Heal support keys; no automatic spell replacement is attempted.
- Discipline may have talents that support Smite alongside Holy Fire; keep Holy Fire a separate deliberate action. No retail Atonement mechanic is assumed.
