Requirements

  • Learned Devour Magic; the source records its first rank at level 30. Each higher rank must be learned separately.
  • Devour Magic: Demon: Felhunter.
  • Summoned, living Felhunter with Devour Magic trained.

Known limitations

  • Research-supported design for beta 1.60.1.70009; no recorded in-client macro tests. English spell names require localization on other clients.
  • The first matching branch is final. Range, line of sight, cooldown, resources, an unlearned spell or no removable effect cannot redirect a failed helpful action to the enemy.
  • Enemy mouseover is ignored. A dead friendly mouseover is skipped, so a living hostile current target can still receive the harmful action.
  • No automatic self fallback or target-of-target branch. With no matching branch, no spell is attempted. Alt keybindings may intercept the self modifier.
  • One press attempts one spell. This key does not detect debuffs, enemy casts, readiness, health or which action is best.
  • A summoned, living Felhunter must actually know Devour Magic. Pet mana, range, line of sight, control state and cooldown apply; this key does not summon or train a demon.
  • The friendly branch removes a harmful Magic effect; the enemy branch removes a beneficial Magic effect. A successful devour heals the Felhunter, not the friendly recipient or the Warlock.
  • Friendly and hostile uses share the pet ability cooldown. A friendly mouseover with nothing removable can block an intended enemy purge.
  • A dead Felhunter cannot act. The pet-family condition identifies the required demon but does not prove that it is alive, able to act or in range.
  • There is no player /stopcasting or /petattack command. Existing pet behaviour and autocast can still matter; verify manual control and the shared cooldown in client.

Notes

  • Spell IDs identify the sourced first-rank reference; unranked names request the learned rank selected by the client. A spellbook tab is not a specialization lock.
  • Talent and level records are provisional beta extraction, not proof of spell acquisition.
  • Ability metadata adapted from Chris Baldwin / Talents Forever under CC BY 4.0: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/. Macro design and summaries are original Allegedly Skilled work.
  • This variant keeps the existing Devour Magic record intact and removes its hostile-mouseover branch so friendly targets have consistent priority.
  • Optional utility for all three specs when using a Felhunter. No preferred specialization grants pet access or the trained ability.
  • Researched pairing rationale and client cases: research/hybrids/warlock.md.
