Requirements
- Riptide learned; source first-learning level 40; Frost Shock learned; source first-learning level 20. Each action needs its own learned spell.
- Riptide requires its actual Restoration talent with a legal allocation and its Healing Way prerequisite; the reviewed tree requires 31 points including Riptide. A spec label alone does not grant it.
Known limitations
- Researched design, not tested in the Forever client. Beta names, requirements and behavior may change.
- English spell names only. Unqualified casts use the learned rank selected by the client; reference spell IDs do not force rank 1.
- The first matching branch wins. An out-of-range, obstructed, unlearned or otherwise unusable helpful action does not fall through to the hostile action. Cooldown or resource failure never chooses another spell.
- Keep Alt plus this key free of conflicting bindings. Alt explicitly selects yourself even with an enemy selected.
- A living friendly mouseover takes priority over your selected enemy. Move the cursor off friendly units and frames when you intend to use the hostile action.
- Enemy mouseover cannot redirect the hostile action. No target-of-target branch, automatic self fallback, retargeting or lowest-health selection is included.
- Dead mouseover units are skipped, so a living selected enemy can still receive the hostile action. With no matching living recipient and no Alt, no spell is selected.
- One press attempts one spell. No rotation, proc detection, cooldown fallback, /stopcasting or explicit /startattack is included. Normal cast and channel interactions still apply.
- The Riptide branch is talent-gated; Frost Shock remains baseline. An unavailable Riptide does not cause a matching friendly branch to cast Frost Shock.
- Riptide and Frost Shock keep their own spell effects, ranges and cooldown constraints; the macro never chooses by cooldown or healing urgency.
- Frost Shock applies a slow that can be immune and has shorter range than Riptide in the source. Keep dedicated slow and interrupt access when required.
- Riptide can improve a later Chain Heal directed at that recipient in the reviewed source. The player must choose that follow-up; this key does not select or chain it.
Notes
- Keep these paired abilities in the same positions across this class's three specs. Add optional talent keys separately instead of remapping a shared pair.
- Pairings are Allegedly Skilled recommendations for predictable bindings, not measured damage, healing or mana optima. Sharing a key grants no mechanical bonus and does not cast both spells.
- All new hybrid keys use Alt self, living friendly mouseover, living friendly selected target, then living hostile selected target. Choose the question-mark icon for a paired key and verify its tooltip in the client.
- Source first-learning levels and actual talent allocations are distinct requirements; neither a preferred spec label nor extra Legacy points prove spell acquisition.
- Ability metadata adapted from Chris Baldwin / Talents Forever, https://talentsforever.com, CC BY 4.0. Macro designs and pairing recommendations are original Allegedly Skilled work.
- Add as a fourth optional position once the actual Riptide talent is learned; do not move Healing Wave, Lesser Healing Wave or either Chain action.
- Both branches are sourced instant actions, a deliberate convenience pairing. This is not a claim that Frost Shock is the highest-damage Restoration choice.
